I haven't been all that interested in cell phones in a long time. I do carry one, it makes calls, sends texts, and until recently, allowed me to self-deal in psychic damage through social media. But, for the most part, it wasn't exactly all that interesting.
The winter is unkind to my hands, and once the temperatures begin to approach freezing, they dry up, flake, and pucker, meaning that I'm never too far away from a tube of hand cream.
This year has been like fighting the tides and aside from spending much time waiting for cream to absorb, the print reader on my iPhone SE 3 became an exercise in frustration. This made things like payments a challenge as I stood there getting my long code wrong once or twice and just being able to quickly check a bus schedule a much colder experience than it need be.
So on Monday, I decided that I'd purchase a new phone, in this case an iPhone 16. In Ultramarine, of course. I'm still not especially interested in phones, but I don't think I was prepared for just how much nicer it is to use than the SE 3 it replaced. So there's that.
